Here We Go/January 1st
Kerry and I are going to attempt this blog thing... We loaded up in the cold rain after over celebrating on New Years Eve. I saw thirty wild turkeys crossing the road early on the 1st. One huge Tom keeping an eye on the flock as they crossed the road. Great way to start the New Year. We hit the road expecting an uneventful start, but it never really works that way does it? We were flagged down by a passing car outside New Bedford. Our cargo box on the top of the Toyo had popped open. After a quick inventory we realized our tennis raquet bag had taken flight. Kerry made me turn around and head back an exit and unbelievably we recovered the bag with no damage to the raquets, although the bag took some serious road rash. Because of our early evening departure and the cargo box shenanigans we arrived at our first destination around 10:30 PM. Foxwoods!! We skipped check-in and went straight to the tables. We were able to convert our summer change at the cashier to the tune of 250$...they wouldn't take the pennies so I left them in a champagne bucket on a shelf and watched while the sharks circled. Finally a a lady reached in and snatched the pennies and ran off to the bathroom to count her booty. Highly entertaining. Foxwoods was great and Kerry and I both crushed at the poker table. It was Kerry's first time playing poker in a casino and after a little first time jitters she settled in and put a hurting on our table. We had a comped room and breakfast and walked out of the Woods up a bit which is always nice.
