New Orleans Jan. 7th

After hitting the top rated restaurant(a fondue chain called The Melting Pot which really wasn't that bad) in Pensacola, we headed off to "the big easy".  We are winging this trip for the most part and have no reservations which apparently isn't always the best idea.  Tonight in N.O. there is a little football game between LSU and Ohio State.  Who knew the BCS National Championship was such a big game?  The whole entire city is booked.  After doing a little research we discovered that New Orleans is not much of a party town.  I guess they have one bar called Bourbon Street which is pretty popular but who wants to go to a city for one lousy bar.  We also found out the hotel we wanted to stay out was in the French Quarter.  Neither of us speak French and if we wanted to visit a French speaking area we would have taken a cruise to a little country called Montreal.  We dodged a bullet this time.

you DO know that no one speaks French anymore in New Orleans, right? The "French Quarter" is just a name, really.

Hey toolbags, all you had to do is ask me where the key was in Savannah and you could have stayed. Thanks for keeping in touch Easy E. Maybe I will meet you somewhere in the US OF A. Good luck Micheal Stich and Meuresemo.
